1. Your home

Property type

Main door facing

The direction you face when stepping out of your main door. Not sure? Measure it with the compass or the map finder.

2. Where is each room?

How do I find a room’s zone?

Divide your home’s outline into a 3×3 grid aligned with north. The square a room mostly occupies is its zone; the middle square is the centre (Brahmasthan).

How to use the Vastu checker

      1. Choose flat or house and set the direction your main door faces.
      2. Tap the zone for each room in the 3×3 grid (north at the top). Add more rooms or outdoor features from the menu.
      3. Read the result. Each room is rated Ideal, Good, Neutral or Avoid with the traditional reason.
      4. Start with no-cost fixes — usually moving the bed, stove or desk within the same room.
      5. Share or print the report to discuss with family or a consultant.

Why our Vastu score is different

Most Vastu score calculators give you a number without telling you how it was produced. Ours is a simple, published weighted average. Placements are drawn from those most consistently cited across mainstream Vastu literature, and where sources disagree we rate a placement Neutral instead of alarming you. The methodology page lists every rating and weight.

      Frequently asked questions

How is the Vastu score calculated?

Each room or feature you enter gets points for its zone: Ideal = 100, Good = 75, Neutral = 45, Avoid = 0. Each item has an importance weight (for example, main entrance 15, kitchen 14, toilet 12, balcony 4). Your score is the weighted average of only the items you entered. The full rule table is published on how scoring works.

How do I know which zone a room is in?

Imagine your home’s outline divided into a 3×3 grid lined up with north — the middle square is the centre (Brahmasthan). The square a room mostly sits in is its zone. For a precise answer, stand at the centre of your home with the Vastu compass and point at each room, or upload your plan to the floor plan analyzer.

Does this Vastu checker work for flats and apartments?

Yes. Use your flat’s own outline and its own main door, not the building’s. Read Vastu for flats for flat-specific tips, including what to do when you cannot change the layout.

Is a low Vastu score bad?

A score summarises how closely your layout matches commonly cited traditional placements. It does not predict health, wealth or relationships, and most homes — especially city flats — have some “avoid” placements. Start with the no-cost suggestions; they are rearrangements within rooms.

Is my data saved or uploaded?

Your entries are saved only in this browser so you can come back to them. The share link stores your answers inside the link itself; nothing is sent to our servers.

Why does a different Vastu website give a different score?

Many calculators do not publish their rules or weights, and Vastu schools disagree on edge cases. Where mainstream sources disagree, we rate a placement “Neutral” rather than pick a side, and we show you exactly how every point was earned.
