Privacy policy

The short version: our tools run in your browser. Your compass readings, location, home layout and floor plans are processed on your device and are not sent to us. We don’t have accounts, and we don’t sell data.
What the tools do with your data

| Your location (only if you tap “Use my precise location” or “Use my location”) | Used on your device to calculate magnetic declination or centre the map. A rounded copy may be stored in your browser’s local storage so you don’t have to repeat it. Never sent to us. |
| Floor plan files | Opened and drawn entirely in your browser. Never uploaded. Discarded when you close or reload the page. |
| Saved readings, room placements, theme preference | Stored in your browser’s local storage on this device only. Clear them any time with “Clear all” or by clearing site data. |
| Share links from the Vastu Checker | Your room placements are encoded in the link itself (after the #). Anyone you give the link to can see them. The part after # is not sent to our server. |
Third-party services
- Map Direction Finder: map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap’s tile servers, which receive your IP address and the map area you view, as with any online map. If you use the search box, your search text is sent to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim geocoding service. See the OSMF privacy policy.
- Hosting: our host (Cloudflare) processes standard request data such as IP address and user agent to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
- Analytics and advertising: none are currently active on this site. If we add them, this policy will be updated first.
Cookies
We do not set cookies. We use your browser’s local storage only for the features described above.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
Because we don’t hold your personal data, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete — the data on your device is under your control. If you have a question or a request under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the GDPR or similar laws, email hello@onlinevastucompass.com.
Changes
We will update this page before introducing any new data processing, and change the date above.
